The Sky by Redshift

The Sky is a powerful and easy-to-use planetarium, developed in collaboration with THAMES & KOSMOS. It is your daily companion for observing the sky. Simply hold your smartphone or tablet up to the sky, and you will see which planets, stars, and constellations are above you. The app will show you where to find Mars or Jupiter and help you locate your zodiac sign.

With just a few taps, you can get detailed views of not only nearby planets and their moons, but also distant deep-sky objects. Take breathtaking flights to planets, stars, and nebulae, while built-in explanations and animations help you understand phenomena such as solar eclipses or the opposition of Mars. Even beginners will quickly grasp the mechanics of celestial events.

The app contains more than 9,000 stars, 88 constellations, hundreds of moons, asteroids, and comets, as well as 200 spectacular deep-sky objects — all with accurate position calculation and real-time motion tracking. You can recognize stars and constellations, track the paths of planets and satellites, and see what is happening in the sky tonight.

Version 2.0 includes new features: an eclipse timetable, orbits of celestial objects, and an expanded database with 6,500 cities worldwide, including 2,500 cities in the United States. You will also find detailed information about the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, including the path description, safe viewing guidelines, and exact times for your location. The premium subscription unlocks additional space flights, an eclipse calendar from 1900 to 2100, and a guided tour of the Mars 2020 mission with images and animations of the Perseverance rover landing.
