Many years ago, Prince Griffinvale fell in love with a girl and, despite his father's resistance, married her. The king, incapable of reconciling himself with a hopeless union, sent his son to a crusade and, in his absence, expelled his young wife from the castle. The king hoped that the prince would eventually forget about her, but his plans were destroyed when his heir died in battle, and the prince's beloved wife gave birth to a child and died in custody.
