Virtual Regatta Inshore offers boat racing where players catch waves and gusts of wind. A regatta is a major sporting event dedicated to sailing competitions, featuring top yachtsmen aiming to prove their skills and secure prize places. Sailing races are part of the Olympic Games program with strict rules. Players compete against dozens of others in these events, with the goal of finishing first in each race.

Gameplay controls involve several buttons. Two buttons on the left steer the vessel left and right, while three buttons on the right manage heel, sail area, and overall speed. Each race is a short track segment with specific points, obstacles, and other objects. To win in these sports competitions, players must complete all tasks, collect points, and cross the finish line first. Between races, the boat can be customized by changing its color and paint scheme.
