Civil War: 1865

After Colombia, Charleston and South Carolina entered into the Union in early 1865, Jefferson Davis handed the Supreme Command and Army to General Lee late. This could not prevent the Union's armies from encountering North Carolina, capturing Fayetteville, Bentonville, Goldsboro and Raleigh by mid-April. The siege of the Union in St. Petersburg and Richmond, seized by the siege, Lee's forces made the last attempt of resistance, seizing Fort-Steadman on March 25.
